Today's offering showcases this classic and beautifully restored Seamaster De Ville cased in the early 1960's. Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 550/552 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs, and the top tier offering of the 500 series.
It is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
'60's and early 70's Seamasters are great long-term buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.
It measures 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, just slightly larger than the size of a Rolex Date watch.
It is fully Omega down to the dial, hands, and winding crown and has just finished a true expertly done restoration.
It presents as perfect mint condition. While we strive for all of our restored watches to be high top-tier, this one is about as perfect as these come.
The dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. And the case is mint with crisp angles. It shows hardly any signs of polishing to the top and sides and retains wonderfully strong lines.
As part of the restoration the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker.
For the finishing touch a new leather strap has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
