Grain Elevators can be found in small towns throughout the Great Plains, located by roads and railroad tracks. The grain was shipped to regional mills. My artist books portray the reality of change rather than a romanticized idea of the past, displaying the economic, technological, and social changes that reshape urban and rural landscapes.
The majority of my imagery is from my own photographs, as well as some vintage ephemera. Computer software is used to alter and manipulate the images, which are combined with various book structures to create a harmonious whole. The books are inkjet or laser printed, hand cut, and hand-assembled using many traditional and nontraditional bookmaking techniques.
